I don't know when we started noticing this guy, but one day we just did. First it was, "Hey, there's that guy again". Then it was, "Wow, there's that guy AGAIN!" Next it was, "Who is that guy and why do we see him so much? Maybe I should take his picture?" We thought maybe he was a reporter because he was always alone, but he was always in the front row and never took any pictures or looked like he was writing anything down, so we discounted that theory. Finally, one time at The Earl, we overheard someone say, "Hey Kenny...", and I was like, AHA, HE HAS A NAME. Ever since then, we have had this urge to talk to him because we see him at so many of the same concerts we're at, but we never do.
But, we talk about him like we know him:
"Kenny's here."
"Kenny's talking to someone"
"Woah, Kenny's jumping up and down and dancing."
"How'd Kenny get such good seats?"
Well, I happened to be looking at some of my uploaded videos on youtube and was seeing where some were posted to. For one Snowden video, I ended up finding myself on Dave's blog.
That made me understandably excited that he found my video and posted
it on his blog =). But, as I was reading some entries, one caught my
attention. It said, "Kenny was there..." and Kenny was a link. I
clicked on it and was kind of stunned...Kenny is important??!?!
That's right. He is Kenny Crucial
and apparently he is Atlanta's Indie Scene barometer for success.

It's
intriguing in some ways, and yet I feel like someone not in the know
because I didn't know. Here I thought I was just noticing some guy a
lot.
Well,
I'm conducting my own personal experiment. I don't go to nearly as
many shows as I'd like, but I go to enough that I see Kenny throughout
the year. I just started tracking which shows I see him out.
Why?
1> Curiosity...I like looking for patterns
2> See if the bands blow up to stardom as they some say they do if he comes to watch
