OK, here's how my recap/reviews work:
- I always DVR the show so I can start/stop as many times as necessary
- I watch the performance and pause so I can write my own critique and prediction for what will happen without being influenced by the judges (Jidges if you're Cat)
- I watch and recap the Judges' responses and decisions (compare against mine)
- In the end, I will decide who are my favorites and predict the bottom 2 Girls & Guys.
Brandon & Kayla - Contemporary
Brandon's solo
Girl Routine
Predicted Bottom 4:
Girls - Melissa & Kayla
Guys - Evan & Ade
Predicted Cast-offs: Melissa & Evan (let's hope)

SHOW START -
OMG...heart attack moment. Just as Cat started the show, my TV picture went black, but I could still hear her. Phew...only lasted a few seconds.
Cat is wearing a purple dress that is very tight on the bottom and a little looser on top. It could almost be separate pieces, like she tucked in her shirt and pulled it out a little so it balloons at the bottom. It's eh. I DO like her bracelet. It looks like she's wearing a part from a door or a doorbell and it's massive. It's so weird that I love it.
Judges - Nigel, Mary, Lil C (We're in for a vernacular treat tonight)
Nigel says everyone is kind of equal and no standouts. Then he refers back to past contestants that have stood out. He named Top 4 from last year (I personally never thought Courtney should have been Top 4 over Chelsie). But, the weird one he mentions is Gev standing out. Hmmmm...OK, I admit he was a decent BBoy, but I personally think Dom stood out WAY more along with lots of other dancers besides Gev (e.g., Travis, Danny, Dmitri, Hok, etc). Very strange choice Nigel.
Then he goes on to say that people are voting for choreography and routines and not people because there aren't any standouts. But at the same time he says there's such a high standard this season. So, does that mean they picked too many technical dancers this year and we'll start seeing more clowns next season? I hope not. I like seeing people who can actually dance.
GUYS GROUP ROUTINE - Jazz / Sonya Tayeh / True Romance (She Wants Revenge)
Lil C - Dreamed of having Brandon & Ade together in a routine, so he loved it. Brandon = very dedicated. Ade = still proving it for him. Evan = wasn't swallowed by powerhouses of Ade & Brandon.
Mary - LOVED IT!
Nigel - Evan stood out because it was a different style for him.
I think Nigel is on crack. They act like Evan isn't as trained as Ade or Brandon. The boy can do a double pirouhette in his sleep. The technique wasn't the problem...it was the style. Evan looked awkward to me.
Ade & Jeanine - Samba / Louis Van Amstel / LoveGame (Lady Gaga)
Lil C - Jeanine looks amazing. Was excited with this partnership, but fell short...maybe too high expectations, or just faltered.
Nigel - Ade didn't change his style in this when he needed to. Jeanine looked beautiful and confident.
Hmmm...they're being ultra tough on Ade on that critique. Do you think they don't want Brandon & Ade in the finals again because last season they also had two black guys in the finals? Sorry...conspiracy theorist always working in my head.
SOLO #1: KAYLA - You Found Me (The Fray)
Mary - She thinks they are finale worthy. Fun & entertaining. Evan's dancing was good, but could have been more. Melissa came to life.
Nigel - Melissa = Lots of ballerinas auditioning for S6 ad they can't adapt like Melissa can to different styles (that's because you never give her hip hop). Evan = wasn't technically demanding, but demanding performance and Evan brought enough.
SOLO #2: ADE - 18th Floor Balcony (Blue October)
Mary - Both first class Hot Tamale Train. Exquisite. Brandon has great control. Kayla = perfection on the dance floor
Nigel - LOL - all the girls have had a rough season with dance themes. Wished they danced together sooner and could have had more chemistry, but dancing was brilliant.
SOLO #3: MELISSA - I Put a Spell On You (Nina Simone)
Mary - Jeanine = Forgot to tell her she was wonderful in the Samba. No eviction notices after that performance. Loved the routine idea
Nigel - Better than rehearsals earlier in the day. Jeanine was a surprise. Ade went there for him.
SOLO #4: BRANDON - O'Fortuna (Carmen Burana)
Mary - Tough dance. Had life at the beginning, but by the end, it fell apart. Not really quickstep. Wasn't on top of the world.
Nigel - Melissa = young and talented...inspirational. Lindy hop part wasn't good. Not one of the best routines tonight.
SOLO #5: JEANINE - Feedback (Janet Jackson)
Mary - GREAT, home run tonight. HOT TAMALES!
Nigel - spazz screamer!!
So, are they hyping them so people WILL vote or because they think people will think they're safe and NOT vote?
GIRL ROUTINE - Contemporary / Sonya Tayeh / Kick It - Stereoheroes Remix (Nina Martine)
Mary - What's the next word after amazing? Epitome of strong, versatile, flexible, talented dancers. Kayla stood out because she had harder moves.
Nigel - Loved the chemistry of the three dancers...strength equal and all costumes tailored for them...Jeanine - WOW (You can't tie down talent - Jeanine's boobs showing in corseted strings - DIRTY OLD NIGEL!!!).

GUYS GROUP ROUTINE - Jazz / Sonya Tayeh / True Romance (She Wants Revenge)
- Ade, Brandon, Evan
- Dance concept - Willy Wonka-esque / Sonya intrigued by the costuming of it
- So...just thinking before the routine starts watching the intro...is Evan the Oompa Loompa?
- Costume - Clown pinkish purple knee length checkered pants, black sleeveless button up shirts, flourescent yellow finger gloves and matching zigzag on pants, & silver face paint over one eye
- Dance - I LOVE the song (She Wants Revenge is awesome) and its potential, but not the costumes with it. They all looked a little Oompa Loompa-ish, especially Evan. I thought Ade looked the best in the routine; strong, grounded, committed. I did see some errors. Evan was off on one floor part, Brandon almost lost his balance after the unison back layouts (Evan touched the ground), and Evan lost his "picture" during the part where he jumps on their backs. They're just a weird trio for the end. I miss Jason & Kupono =(
Lil C - Dreamed of having Brandon & Ade together in a routine, so he loved it.
- Dance concept - Not a traditional samba - very sexy
- Costumes - Jeanine has on some Lady Gaga glasses (lame). She's wearing a flashy purple blue skimpy outfit with a big feathery bustle. Ade has on black ballroom pants and a tight purple shirt, black suspenders, and an untied bowtie hanging around his neck.
- Dance - There were good parts and for the most they looked good together. I don't think I loved the tempo of the song for samba. I actually really enjoy samba to Brazilian drum music best. It was good, Ade is sexy, Jeanine knows how to perform, but I still feel eh about it. I also wish Jeanine would stop making those "sexy" faces that just make her look like a fish with its mouth open. And they didn't hold each other like I'm used to seeing Latin ballroom dancers.
- I think this may be my favorite solo that Kayla has done. She had a more modern choreo feel and I liked that it wasn't so "pretty". I also like when she wears things that are so pale she seems to glow all as one color.
- She's REALLY ramping up the personality today...you go Kayla!
- Dance concept - nervous groom who overslept & anxious bride
- Costumes - Melissa in a white negligee and blue veil, like she's just missing the dress. Evan in his white tuxedo shirt and untied bowtie, with boxer shorts and black socks and those old man sock holders.
- Dance - For the style, they were both perfect. They had the moves right and Melissa was more animated, but still in her safe "pretty" dance mode. It was entertaining and well executed, but I still feel blah overall.
- Awwww...my favorite Blue October song!
- I love Ade's musicality, but not his lyricality. He knows how to move so well to small nuances and breaths in the song, but yet I feel like he doesn't match the lyrics as well so it feels empty (example: lyrics say "So my arms are open wide", but Ade's were closed until after the line ends). However, I LOVE watching him dance regardless. Hello 7 clean pirouhettes! Nice.
- Oooh...she did that wonderful Johnathan & Karla routine way long ago. Is Stacey preggo?
- Dance concept - Story of the mistress of a married man and when she doesn't have the strength to leave him
- Costumes - Sexy mistress RED lingerie babydoll for Kayla and Brandon in a work shirt and tie, but he gets undress into just his pants, no shirt
- Dance - FINALLY A NUMBER I LOVE TONIGHT!!! That was exquisite. I'm sorry I ever said one bad thing about Kayla at the beginning of the seaon because she is phenomenal! Did you see that develope a la devant into the arabesque? WOW I felt so bad for her because she loved him and he was using her and then just leaves her in the end. And Brandon...he was strong and cold and so "have your cake and eat it too". He wouldn't let her go, but doesn't love her. And, yikes high tour jete. Great routine!
- It was better than her Heads Will Roll solo
- Still think she should have done a very classic ballet solo. This was lots of slowness and not a lot of wow for me
- I'm PISSED right now. How can Jeanine get hip hop 3x and Ade 2x, but Melissa = 0x the WHOLE SEASON?!?!?!? That's B/S and FIXED!!!!
- Dance concept - Friends who just got evicted from their apartment
- Costume - Blue jeans with matching green/yellow hoodies & colorful sneakers
- Dance - Too much going on for me. There were moving boxes, human double dutch, box feet, and box heads. I got so distracted watching all that I don't even remember what they looked like actually dancing.
- Hi practically naked Brandon in only your little booty shorts.
- Risky move doing a solo you've already done. BUT, when it's THAT solo, please do it EVERY WEEK! He looked like a Greek God with all his muscles and strength and power. Amazing. Still love it! He got a standing O from the judges =D Nigel said it was one of the best solos ever on the show.
- Dance concept - The Kiss of Death (one could only hope)
- Costumes - Melissa has on a garish zebra print ugly dress and Evan has on a nice gangster looking suit
- Dance - Melissa has great carriage and poor thing looked like she was bending far too much back to create the illusion that Evan's not a short little sprite out there. This time he was a bouncing leprechaun most of the time. He had some good moments when it was more "Broadway". I did not like the death spin. He looked like a little kid twirling around his Mom.
- Her boob almost fell out of that vest. It was more jazzy than her normal solos, but still sassy. She's a great performer.
- I'm bored with him
- Don't do fouette turns (second turns) unless you can do them well...annoying
- Dance Concept - fun, energy, topping themselves
- Costumes - Kayla looked like a beautiful ice princess, but those shoes have gots to go! Brandon...why can they never find clothes that fit you? Bell bottoms should not also be high waters.
- Dance - I didn't like it, but it's probably because I don't love disco on here (except Brandon & Janette's). This the first time Kayla couldn't rely on her LONG legs and lines, so all that length just looked awkward and gawky. I didn't like the matching death drops...kind of strange. Had high energy and they tried, but I just didn't feel it. Sorry.
- Jeanine (WONDER WOMAN), Kayla (STORM - XMen), Melissa (BUTTERCUP - PowerPuff Girs)
- Dance concept - super heroes. being triumphant
- Costumes - Different color superheroish style like wonder woman only more corseted and metallic. Long vinyl thigh high leggings. Belts with their initial and capes with Boom, Pow, & Bang on them. Love the costumes. Just noticed Melissa's belt has a mini tutu on it...cute!
- Dance - LOVE THE ROUTINE. That was awesome. Loved the strength and the peter pan stance. They're all strong technically and looked great together. Great energetic song.

You know what's really weird? I noticed Cat's bracelet, too, and the first thing I thought was...
'I bet Diane would love that bracelet.'
I LOVE Brandon!!! Ade too, but Brandon just shines a little more, and his SOLO wow!
I LOVE your conspiracy theories! And LOVE your review of Cat's wardrobe! So fun! I can't WAIT to read what you wrote about her outfit on this last episode, hee hee.
WHY is Evan still there? I knew it. When Nigel criticized his eyes and Ellen said "Evan I love your eyes" I was like, oh no, sympathy vote!
Ew, when did Nigel get so nasty? Seems he's trying to be Simon-ish like that, but it's not working.
Nigel has always been a dirty old man, but usually it's towards the blonde contestants. He is Simon's boss on AI, so maybe Simon got it from Nigel LOL.
Haven't blogged about last Thursday's show...will try before Wednesday's show.
AH, so Simon gets it from Nigel. Why is it bother me more when Nigel does it? Do I secretly think Simon is sexy? Maybe it's those nipples under the tight shirts...;)
