Today I did something I thought I'd never do...I deleted my myspace account. I didn't even really think about it. I just decided, why do I still keep this account around when I'm never on it?Now that I have done it, I have small pangs of guilt and sadness over its absence. Not enough to really regret it, but some to make me nostalgic for years gone by.
Things I will miss on Myspace:
- Opening the account in 2004 to find what Devin & Melissa had tried to hide. Then after their accounts were deleted, never deleting mine, but never using it either.
- Finding Christen again in 2007 and discovering she had a Myspace and getting to know her again through it.
- Figuring out that I could make my page "pretty" and customized, and then making constant changes that only I knew about, but was proud of.
- Buddy Poke - Making my little person look like me and dressing her everyday to match my outfit (I will miss Buddy Poke)
- My Twilight countdown clock for the first movie
- Meez - Making my little avatar that actually did look like me versus the Buddy Poke cartoon version
- Killing (returning to the farm) my Superpoke Pet because he wasn't a cute little chick anymore and grew up to be an annoyingly hungry chicken (just kidding Chicken)
- The music when it was just one song, and then when we could make playlist.com mixes, and finally the NEW myspace music experience
- All the pictures, videos, & comments - so much priceless dialogue that tracked our lives for awhile
- All the friends I became so close to because of that page. BUT, we are all still friends on Facebook, Twitter, or texting so I know that Myspace was just a start.
Awww... I'm glad MySpace was there to help us reconnect. I will definitely miss all the great picture comments & posts you left for me. Love you my dearest friend!
