One of my friends, SmithBlogsAtl, was the one who turned me on to WWPJ. The funny thing about SmithBlogs is we became friends because of YouTube. We were both music enthusiasts in Atlanta and would happen to be at the same shows a lot. He'd record the shows, as would I, and then we'd both post them on YouTube. We started commenting on each other's videos, and eventually became friends --> first by blog follows, then on Twitter and Facebook, and finally in person. See...social media can help you make friends. (And speaking of SmithBlogs, he's getting married tomorrow at Piedmont Park. I wish him and Tammy the best of luck in their lives together).
OK, back to WWPJ. They are an indie rock band so expect the normal rock instruments, but also expect some strings occasionally. I love the obviously Scottish accents in the vocals, but also the music feels moody. If you like Indie music like Mumford & Sons or Arcade Fire, it has the same kind of fullness, but more European.
The band only have an EP and one full length album out so far:
LP - These Four Walls // 2009
EP - The Last Place You'll Look // 2010
I suggest you check them both out. It's music that sounds best live or on headphones turned up really loud so you can "feel" it.
