Till Kingdom Come
Steal my heart and hold my tongue
I feel my time, my time has come
Let me in, unlock the door
I never felt this way before

And the wheels just keep on turning
Drummers begin to drum
I don't know which way I'm going
I don't know which way I've come

Hold my hand inside your hands
I need someone who understands
I need someone, someone who heals
For you I've waited all these years

For you I'd wait til kingdom come
Until my day, my day is done
Oh say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me

In your tears and in your blood
In your fire and in your flood
I heard you laugh, I heard you sing
I wouldn't change a single thing

The wheels just keep on turning
The drummers begin to drum
I don't know which way I'm going
I don't know what I've become

For you I'd wait til kingdom come
Until my day, my days are done
Oh say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me

Forever and Ever Amen
We, we are in love
We, forever
We're, not gonna stop
We'll be, forever

And all the stars in the sky
And all the flowers in the fields
And all the power in the Earth
Could never take you from my heart

And it's forever, baby it's forever
It's forever, baby it's forever
And Let me run til the end of time
Until our hearts are aligned into the sky
We'll Run til the end of time
Until our hearts are aligned into the sky

We, we are the ones
When, together
We, we are the young
We live, forever

And all the stars in the sky
And all the flowers in the fields
And all the power in the Earth
Could never take you from my heart

And it's forever, baby it's forever
It's forever, baby it's forever
And let me run til the end of time
Until our hearts are aligned into the sky
We'll run til the end of time
Until our hearts are aligned into the sky

Forever and ever...

And it's forever, baby it's forever
It's forever, baby it's forever
And let me run til the end of time
Until our hearts are aligned into the sky
We'll Run til the end of time
Until our hearts are aligned into the sky

Baby's Romance
The baby's sleeping in the crib up top
And baby's sleeping above you
You will lift him to the parking lot
Your car is waiting there for you
Your car is waiting there for you

I would like to see a little more propriety,
Cooperate with me and answer me
Without a plea.

I know now, I know now, I know now,
I'm gonna tell on you.
I know now, I know now, I know now,
I'm never gonna tell on you.

The whiskey's waiting on the firetop,
The baby's going to drink too.
The lady's got no clothes she's at the shop.
But if she'd knew then she'd kill you.
The bugs are out cause they come out at night,
Usually they just bite our hands.
Cause normally we have clothes on without a fight,
But now fighting's a part of baby's romance.
But now fighting's a part of baby's romance.

I would like to see a little more propriety,
Cooperate with me and answer me
Without a plea.

I know now, I know now, I know now,
I'm gonna tell on you.
I know now, I know now, I know now,
I'm never gonna tell on you.

Baby sleeps I can scrape your flower pots.
And baby's sleeping against you.
I think he'd pray for an old motor car.
Or any bed made without you.
Or any bed made without you.

I would like to see a little more propriety,
Cooperate with me and answer me
Without a plea.
I would like to see a little more propriety,
Cooperate with me and answer me
Without a plea.

Breathe
A blue-black shade of love, sent from above.
My hands are tied, two worlds alone, and this I know.
Your breaths like wine, and just like clouds, my skin crawls.
It's so divine, the sky it glows with fields of light.

Did you know, that I love you?
Come and lay with me.
I love you, and honesty.
I love you, you make me feel alive,
And I'll love you, until the end of time.

My hands shake clasped with fear, as you come near.
To say goodnight, just like a dove, a peaceful sign.
To help us by as you come in, let this begin.
Stars fall like dust, our lips will touch, we speak too much.

Did you know, that I love you?
come and lay with me.
I love you, and honesty.
I love you, you make me feel alive,
And I'll love you, until the end of time.

I've got a lot to say, if you will let me.
It's always hard, when you're around me.
but here right now, there's interest in your eyes.
so hear me out, and hear this the first time that I love you...

...come and lay with me.
I love you, and honesty.
I love you, you make me feel alive,
And I'll love you, until the end of time.

Video - Cover of Lauryn Hill's song by Holly Miranda

Ex-Factor

It could all be so simple
but you'd rather make it hard
loving you is like a battle
and we both end up with scars
tell me, who i have to be
to get some reciprocity
no one loves you more than me
and no one ever will
is it just a silly game
that forces you to act this way
forces you to scream my name
then pretend that you can't stay
tell me, who i have to be
to get some reciprocity
See no one loves you more than me and no one ever will.
No matter how i think we grow
you always seem to let me know
it ain't workin'
it ain't workin'
and when i try to walk away
you hurt yourself to make me stay
this is crazy
this is crazy
i keep letting you back in
how can i explain myself
as painful as this thing has been
i just can't be with no one else
see i know what we have got to do
you let go and i'll let go too
cause no one's hurt me more than you
and no one ever will
No matter how I think we grow
you always seem to let me know
it ain't workin'
it ain't workin'
And when i try to walk away
you hurt yourself to make me stay
This is crazy
This is crazy
Oh this is crazy
care for me, care for me
i know you care for me
there for me there for me
said you'd be there for me
cry for me cry for me
you said you'd die for me
give to me give to me
why don't you live for me.

Your Ex-Lover is Dead

God, that was strange to see you again
Introduced by a friend of a friend
Smiled and said, "Yes, I think we've met before"
In that instant it started to pour

Captured a taxi despite all the rain
We drove in silence across Pont Champlain
And all of that time you thought I was sad
I was trying to remember your name

This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin
You tried to reach deep but you never got in
And now you're outside me, you see all the beauty
Repent all your sin

Nothing but time and a face that you'll lose
I chose to feel it and you couldn't choose
I'll write you a postcard, I'll send you the news
From the house down the road from real love

Live through this and you won't look back
Live through this and you won't look back
Live through this and you won't look back

There's one thing I have to say so I'll be brave
You were what I wanted
I gave what I gave
I'm not sorry I met you
I'm not sorry it's over
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save

Running Up That Hill

If I only could, I'd be running up that hill.
If I only could, I'd be running up that hill.

It doesn't hurt me.
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
You, it's you and me.

And if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
If I only could, oh...

You don't want to hurt me,
But see how deep the bullet lies.
Unaware I'm tearing you asunder.
Ooh, there is thunder in our hearts.

Is there so much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?
You, it's you and me.
It's you and me won't be unhappy.

And if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building,
Say, if I only could, oh...

You,
It's you and me,
It's you and me won't be unhappy.

"C'mon, baby, c'mon darling,
Let me steal this moment from you now.
C'mon, angel, c'mon, c'mon, darling,
Let's exchange the experience, oh..."

And if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems.

If I only could
Be running up that hill
With no problems...

"If I only could, I'd be running up that hill.
If I only could, I'd be running up that hill."

Ion Square

Ion square, perspex swings
I breathe out, you breathe in
Permanent midnight
Our love, our love
How we've come to depend
On each other to the end
The space between us has disappeared
You finish my, you finish my words for me

I remember how it began
So many great days in a row
Barefoot on Bishopsgate
Trying to find Blake's grave
If we could stay like this in a silver foil
Trapped in amber for a life
Permanent midnight
Our love, our love

I carry your heart here with me
I carry it in my heart
I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart

Who said unbroken happiness
Is a bore, is a bore?
Who said it, my love?
I don't mind it anymore, anymore
And I reach out a hand over your side of the bed
Pull that blanket over your shoulders exposed to the night
And the hunger of those early years will never return
But I don't mind, I don't mind
Because I love my mind when I'm fucking you
Slowed down to a crawl
Years of crime and the bread line
Have not at all dimmed your shine
So let's stay in, let the sofa be our car
Let's stay in, let the TV be our stars
I found my dancing shoes but they don't fit
All the bright lights do is bore me
They bore me

I carry your heart here with me
I carry it in my heart
I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart

Pioneers

If it can be broke then it can be fixed,
if it can be fused then it can be split
It's all under control
If it can be lost then it can be won,
if it can be touched then it can be turned
All you need is time

We promised the world we'd tame it,
what were we hoping for?

A sense of purpose and a sense of skill,
a sense of function but a disregard
We will not be the first, we won't
You said you were going to conquer new frontiers,
Go stick your bloody head in the jaws of the beast

We promised the world, we'd tame it,
what were we hoping for?

Breath in, breath out

So here we are reinventing the wheel
I'm shaking hands with a hurricane
It's a colour that I can't describe,
It's a language I can't understand
Ambition, tearing out the heart of you
Carving lines into you
Dripping down the sides of you

We will not be the last.

We Are All Accelerated Readers

I was sick in my mouth because of the fear of the scent of an ex-girlfriend
And no more conversations about what Breakfast Club character you'd be
I'd be the one that dies (no one dies)
Well then what's the point?

You should have built have a statue, and so I did of you
And you were ungrateful, and slightly offended at the dimensions of it
You said you looked less like the Venus de Milo, and more like your mother in a straightjacket
I think it's great that you're doing fine now, but enough is enough
And I've had enough

Since we became accelerated readers, we never leave the house

You should have built a wall
You should have built a wall

And I'm not Bonnie Tyler, and I'm not Toni Braxton
And this song is not gonna save your relationship
Oh no... shit!
And this sentimental movie marathon has taught us one thing
It's the opposite of true love is as follows:
Reality!

You should have built a wall, not a bridge
(Since we became accelerated readers, we never leave the house)
You should have built a wall, not a bridge

Since we became accelerated readers, we never leave the house
Since we became accelerated readers, we never leave the house.

Sinking Friendships

We're swimming in the blue
The night mist's full of dew
Will light bring lighter blue?
My eyes are soaked all way through

We're sinking friendships
We drown more and more

I'm singing a sad tune
Is this song to you?
Is this song to you?

Wishes overdue are well saved in locks
Wishes overdue...

No one knows you, till it's over
You know no one true, till it's over

Is this song to you?
Is this song to you?

My lips are pale blue
My shivering half-moon
My last night's slowest tune
Is the end of the end of the end

We're sinking friendships
We drown more and more

I'm singing a sad tune
Is this song to you?
Is this song to you?

Wishes overdue are well saved in locks
Wishes overdue...

No one knows you, till it's over
You know no one true, till it's over

No one knows you, till it's over
You know no one true, till it's over

Is this song to you?
Is this song to you?

Use Somebody
Matisyahu covering Kings of Leon

I used to be a big fan of Matisyahu after hearing King Without a Crown on the Live at Stubb's album.  I've seen him twice in concert and he has a beautiful voice, but is also a great beatboxer.  I did get a little turned off of him after seeing his last concert. To be fair, my opinions probably had less to do with his music than with the crowd at his show.

This is an interesting "mashup" produced by Billboard for Mashup Monday.  I have heard Matisyahu sing between songs in his lullaby chanting way, but usually he's more of a reggae artist so it was really nice to hear his beautiful tenor during this song.  He adds a little of his beatboxing flair at the end.

I Will Follow You Into the Dark

Love of mine
Someday you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light
Or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
And illuminate the "No"s
On their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school
As vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised
By a lady in black
And I held my tongue
As she told me, "Son
Fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
And illuminate the "No"s
On their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me
Have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes
Are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
But it's nothing to cry about
Because we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
And illuminate the "No"s
On their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Jonsi - Live on BBC Radio 1

jonsi.jpg

Jonsi, the front man from Sigur Ros, is about to release his first solo album called Go on 6-Apr-2010 in the U.S.  The singles, Lilikoi Boy and Go Do, have been released and are beautiful.  Because it's still Jonsi's angelic falsetto singing there are many similarities to Sigur Ros, but the album feels much more magical, uplifting and "playful" as Jonsi has said himself.

The first stream is the full interview and acoustic versions of "Go Do" and cover of MGMT's "Time to Pretend" from his BBC R1 interview yesterday, 20-Mar-2010. The second stream is the cover alone. Hearing him sing live seriously almost makes me cry because his voice sounds so pure.

I have a small obsession with Jonsi ever since he started following me on Twitter (not really a special feat considering he follows a lot of accounts).  BUT, one day, Jonsi actually responded back to me on a tweet.  For that, I will have respect for his work and him as a human being.  I know...doesn't take much to win me over.

Possibility

There's a possibility
There's a possibility
All that I had was all I gon' get
There's a possibility
There's a possibility
All I gon get is gone with your step

So tell me when you hear my heart stop,
You're the only who knows
Tell me when you hear my silence
There's a possibility
I wouldn't know

Know that when you leave
Know that when you leave
By blood and by mean
You walk like a thieve
By blood and by mean
I fall when you leave

So tell me when you hear my heart stop,
You're the only who knows
Tell me when you hear my silence
There's a possibility
I wouldn't know

Tell me when my sigh is over
You're the reason why I'm close
Tell me if you hear me falling
There's a possibility
It wouldn't show

By blood and by mean
I fall when you leave
By blood and by mean
I follow your lead

This video came out yesterday and while it's been blogged to death already, I wanted to have it on record on mine as well.

I am by no means a Pop music fanatic; however, I do like many of Lady Gaga's songs.  I really did steer clear of her for a long time because I had assumed she was just another one-hit wonder.  But time went on, the music got catchier, and the outfits more ridiculously fabulous.  I finally broke down when she released a double disc version of The Fame Monster which also included The Fame.

Now, I don't listen to it often and don't like every song, but there are some good ones included.  This video song is NOT one of my favorites, but I love the video none-the-less.

Why? Because Lady Gaga is not afraid to take a risk and own her personality creation.  In that ownership is a confidence and outlandishness.  Pop music should be crazy and "out there" or else it'd be boring.  Lady Gaga is pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable, much like a Madonna of the past.  I am happy she got Beyonce in her song/video to play along.  This only makes Beyonce seem cooler than she is.

I have heard this will be a trilogy short film video.  Enjoy the first part...

This Must Be the Place

Home is where I want to be
Pick me up and turn me round
I feel numb, born with a weak heart
I guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground, head in the sky
It's okay, I know nothing's wrong, nothing

Hey, I got plenty of time
Hey, you got light in your eyes
And you're standing here beside me
Out of the passing of time
Never for money, always for love
Cover up and say goodnight, say goodnight

Home is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home, she lifted up her wings
I guess that this must be the place
I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time before we were born
If someone asks, this where I'll be, where I'll be

Hey, we drift in and out
Hey, sing into my mouth
Out of all those kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you'll love me 'til my heart stops
Love me 'til I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head
Ah ooh

NICEST THING

All I know is that you're so nice
You're the nicest thing I've seen
I wish that we could give it a go
See if we could be something

I wish I was your favourite girl
I wish you thought I was the reason you are in the world
I wish my smile was your favourite kind of smile
I wish the way that I dressed was your favourite kind of style
I wish you couldn't figure me out
But you always wanna know what I was about
I wish you'd hold my hand when I was upset
I wish you'd never forget the look on my face when we first met

I wish you had a favourite beauty spot that you loved secretly
'Cause it was on a hidden bit that nobody else could see
Basically, I wish that you loved me
I wish that you needed me
I wish that you knew when I said two sugars
Actually, I meant three

I wish that without me your heart would break
I wish that without me you'd be spending the rest of your nights awake
I wish that without me you couldn't eat
I wish I was the last thing on your mind before you went to sleep

All I know
Is that you're the nicest thing I've ever seen
I wish that we could see
If we could be something

To Blog or Not To Blog.jpg
Source: Unknown

Seriously, I have all these ideas in my head that I think would be great, but then real life takes over and I never get to any of them to the point where if I DID actually start, I'd be so far behind I won't do it. Such a blogging conundrum.  But I really want to try to be a better, more regular, blogger.

Here are my ideas for regular segments on the blog:
  • Continue my regular entry updates for fanfics - rated, reading now, to-read, etc.
  • Restart my concert reviews (starting with The English Beat/Fishbone show I saw on Friday)
  • Start a new segment for reviewing the fanfics I have finished reading so people actually know WHY I rated them the way I did
  • Start a new segment for highlighting a song a week whether it is for the song itself, its lyrics, or because it spoke to me that week
  • Start a new segment reviewing new music I have bought
  • Restart my SYTYCD blogging when Season 7 starts in May.
Now I don't want to be one of those generic blog sites that all have the same new hipster information.  Really, I didn't start this because I wanted to become famous (although I love seeing that someone has found me).  I blog because I sometimes have thoughts in my head that I want to get out.  I like to just be honest and write about things that speak to me or my passions.

So, let's see if I can drag myself away from reading Twilight fanfic long enough to make these aspirations come true.  =)

Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)

By, Mary Schmich

(Lyrics made famous by Baz Luhrmann)

Lyrics and song -->This way
WheretheWildThingsAre.jpgI have been very excited about the release of the movie Where The Wild Things Are since I saw the first trailer for it months ago.  The trailer included Arcade Fire's Wake Up and it was so moving I almost cried watching it.  Since then, I have been soaking up everything I can find. Now I wasn't even a fan of the book because I was past childhood when it came out, but the images from the movie were so captivating and so recognizable from the illustrations that I have since become a fan.

I bought the soundtrack to the movie last week without even listening to any of the songs.  However, I did know that Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs was doing it with Carter Burwell (recently of Twilight score fame) so it wasn't like it'd be a huge mystery.  I was blown away from the first listen.  Karen O and the Kids have captured youth, wonder, fear, amazement, excitement, and sometimes worry.

After listening for awhile, I started collecting my favorite songs and my favorite is Worried Shoes. It's very subdued and simple with just a piano in the background and Karen O's broken, tender voice that captures the song's theme.  After looking up the lyrics, I found this song is actually a cover and was originally recorded by Daniel Johnston.  It's a brilliant song.

Lyrics and more after the jump...

500-days-of-summer-01.jpg
I saw this movie for my birthday the other day and ever since I can't get it out of my head.  It's like it has planted this thought seed inside and I want to dissect it, appreciate it, contemplate it, and revisit it.  I've been trying to figure out why, but in the end it just resonated with me and has earned a spot in my favorite movies list.

If you have NOT seen it, STOP HERE, and don't read any further because I'm going to discuss it and I don't want to give anything away.  I will strongly suggest you go watch it right now...find a theater, a showing, and don't hesitate. You will love it.

The Way I "Hear" Twilight

Twilight-Series-Covers-twilight-series.jpgIt's no secret to anyone who knows me well that I am a Twilight fanatic and I'm not ashamed of my illogical devotion either.  I know I am not a teenage girl falling in love for the first time, but all girls remember what it was like.  All girls fantasized about finding their perfect someone just for them.  Someone hopelessly devoted to only them who made the world spin and created a place that was theirs within the chaos of normal existence.  Someone who made them feel less awkward about themselves and saw the true person inside without judgment. It's a nice feeling to have and that's exactly what Twilight does for me.  Granted, I didn't actually find my "Edward" until I met my husband, but once you do meet that person, the book feels as if it was written by you somehow.

My devotion started after my birthday last August when I received the books as gifts. I had been living under an oblivious rock before that.  The last book, Breaking Dawn was being released and I saw the promotional stuff at all stores.  I saw Facebook buttons about Edward kicking Angel & Spike's asses, or even Chuck Norris'.  I started paying attention to media reports about the movie still in production.  Me being a person who knows their own fascination with Vampires, I was intrigued and couldn't ignore it any longer.  I put the series on my Amazon wish list and the rest is history.

While reading the books (multiple times) or listening to the audiobooks in the car (YES I did do all of this...don't judge me!), I would start to listen to music and find myself relating songs to feelings I'd have when I read the story.  From that came the urgent need to make a playlist.  At first it was going to be one playlist per book, but in the end it became three separate feelings that resonated throughout the series.

~LOVE~

dead-ipod.jpgSo what started as a very normal, typical day in Mrs. Oshimbo Land, has now become a matter of life and death for you, my beloved 120GB iPod.  How did we get here?  Well, we got in the car, we plugged you up with the Monster FM Transmitter, we got angry at how bad Maxwell's new album is, then we rocked out to Florence & The Machines before getting to work.  Then we unplugged you from the Monster FM Transmitter, placed you so softly within your Juicy purse pocket and then released you onto the work desk you spend many hours on.  Then, you allowed me to place headphones in and change artists to Discovery.  But, when I tried to play the LP album, you froze on song one even though you said you were playing.  Then you let me go to song two, but continued to freeze.  It was at that moment I knew you were sick.

RIP Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 - June 25, 2009)

The other day a friend sent me a Direct Message in Twitter asking for recommendations for new music.  She sited The Swell Season and Lily Allen as her preferences. I actually get excited when someone asks for my opinion, but also get a little fearful that they'll hate everything I suggest.  However, the positives to be able to share something new with someone are always more rewarding than any trepidation.  Who cares if they hate it; we don't all have to like the same stuff.  But, if they fall in love with at least one thing, I am happy.

Hi Everyone.  I am a horrible blogger (*hangs head in shame*).  How will I ever actually switch to this web page if I never actually use it?  Actually, I haven't updated my public site, www.itsnotamonkey.com either.  Well, I have a problem.  Why update that old page when I'll then have to transfer it over to this page?  But, at the same time, why should I update this page, when it's not public yet because it's pretty boring looking?

Ross and I are at the modest mouse concert in Atlanta at the Tabernacle. It is a sold out show and really packed in here...all three floors have wall to wall people. We got these seats on the first balcony stage right almost behind the band, but pretty close. Too bad we're in the last row. Don't know of I'll be able to film because I may not get a good shot of the stage. I will try though.

Tonight, Morrissey was supposed to play the Variety Playhouse for another sold out show, but cancelled this morning because he lost his voice. Sucks for anyone who chose Morrissey over modest mouse.

We made the right choice. I'll add a concert review later, but wanted to use the time between bands to write something small now. Gotta go...modest mouse will be on soon.

Friday Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

John Mayer

Lately it seems that every Friday afternoon I feel beat down by life, work, people, etc.  This feeling usually makes me want to either go home and sleep or go out and find something to make me forget the past 40+ Hour work week.

But something happened yesterday making me change my perspective on my situation.  I had the feeling when my husband said, "Hey, just listen to the words."

He set my iPod to a song and hit play.  I had heard the song a million times before and he in fact used to have it on his myspace page as the only song for months (driving everyone crazy).  He used to say it worked for him, but I guess I needed to feel that same exhaustion and oppressive helplessness to actually HEAR the words for the first time.

It's that season when Festivals start getting announced.  The snow melts and in the thaw come the portapotties, vendor booths, large speakers, too much sun and drugs, and lots of great music!

Kenny Crucial

I don't know when we started noticing this guy, but one day we just did.  First it was, "Hey, there's that guy again".  Then it was, "Wow, there's that guy AGAIN!"  Next it was, "Who is that guy and why do we see him so much? Maybe I should take his picture?"  We thought maybe he was a reporter because he was always alone, but he was always in the front row and never took any pictures or looked like he was writing anything down, so we discounted that theory.  Finally, one time at The Earl, we overheard someone say, "Hey Kenny...", and I was like, AHA, HE HAS A NAME.  Ever since then, we have had this urge to talk to him because we see him at so many of the same concerts we're at, but we never do.

Opening Band - Future Rock

I know, I know...if I went to the concert in November 2008, why am I only writing about it almost in February 2009?  Well, one, it got close to the holidays and I got busy, two, I went to Europe for 2-weeks and got preoccupied trying to learn French, and finally three, I really didn't enjoy myself that much at the Matisyahu concert.

My "Top 10 FOREVER" Playlist

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

I have mentioned this list before in previous blog entries so I figured it was time to let you know what I was talking about.  When you have a lot of music to choose from each day, it's hard to narrow down favorites.  For me, my favorites constantly change because they match my moods.  I may love an album for a month straight and not listen to it again for a year.  I'm not a fickle music person; it's just I get preoccupied with finding the next awe inspiring thing.

But deep down, I have faithful songs that will always remain timeless in my head and I could play them on repeat to nauseam.  I forced myself the other day to figure out which ten songs I could listen to FOREVER and be satisfied.  It's not to say this list won't change over time, but if FOREVER started now and I was forced to choose, this is the list (in no particular order).
